Types of facility closure
When managing facility access and availability, closures can be applied in various ways depending on the needs of your organisation. Each closure type restricts access for a specific period and serves different operational purposes. Use this guide to understand and select the appropriate type of closure.
Timing Rules
Before applying a closure, consider when the restriction should be enforced. Closure timing affects whether bookings can be made or attended during specific dates and times.
Closure Types
1. Continuous
This closure applies once between a specific start and end date/time.
The facility will be closed continuously from the first date and time selected to the last date and time.
Example:
A continuous closure is applied from 10am on 1st July to 5pm on 4th July.
➤ The facility will be closed from 10am on 1st July through to 5pm on 4th July, with no availability during this period.
2. Every Day
Applies the same closure window on each day between the selected start and end dates.
The facility is closed daily during the specified times but open outside of those times.
Example:
A daily closure is applied from 10am to 5pm every day from 1st July to 4th July.
➤ The facility will be closed from 10am to 5pm each day, but open before 10am and after 5pm.To skip specific days, use the Add Exclusions option.
3. Every Week
Applies the closure on the same day and time each week.
Ideal for recurring closures on specific weekdays (e.g., every Wednesday).
Each weekly closure must be created separately.
Example:
A weekly closure is applied from 10am to 5pm every Wednesday.
➤ The facility will be closed every Wednesday during this time.Use Add Exclusions if certain weeks should remain open.
4. Always
This type closes the facility indefinitely.
No bookings can be made or applied at any time.
Best used for Private Access rather than temporary closures.
If you want to close permanently, set the facility’s access to Private instead of using a closure.
