Setting up products for Point of Sale
1. Make sure Point of Sale is enabled and that you have Manager access to Products and POS.
2. Go to Products → New Product. Categories are optional, but they make products easier to find in POS. Use Products → Categories to create them.
3. Complete Product details:
- Enter the Name and optional Description.
- Select a Category, or leave it as Uncategorised.
- Set Status to Active.
- Choose whether it should be Visible to customers on the public booking site. Keep off if you don't want the public to see these products on the booking page.
4. Under Pricing & product type:
- Set Standalone product to Yes for something sold directly through POS.
- Enter the Price.
- Configure the tax settings if they are enabled and required.
5. Under Inventory & site availability:
- Choose whether to Track stock.
- Select Available at all sites, or choose the individual sites where it can be sold.
- If stock tracking is enabled, enter the Current stock for all sites or each selected site.
- Don't apply the above if you don't want to track stock
6. Under Financials, add the optional Standard cost code and Tax exempt cost code.
7. Click Create. To add an image afterwards, open the product from the Products list and select Set Media.
Selling the product
Go to Point Of Sale → select the site → choose the category or Uncategorised → select the product. Add the required quantity, optionally select a customer or apply a promo code, then click Pay and choose the relevant payment method.
If the product does not appear in POS
Check that:
- POS is enabled.
- Standalone product is set to Yes.
- Its status is Active.
- The correct POS site is selected and included in the product’s availability.
- The product has stock available if stock tracking is enabled.
- You are looking in the correct category or Uncategorised.
